I’m Sprung | It’s Spring – Trace in the Place

I don’t mean to go into hibernation mode during the winter; it just happens naturally. This particular winter was much harsher than last year’s. Somehow, I survived several bomb cyclones (wtf?), single digit temperatures (also, wtf?), vitamin D deficiencies, and wearing the same Northface parka for 4 months straight, because apparently, that’s how long winter truly lasts in New York. I should probably get that thing cleaned.

The good news is that we are now entering my favorite time of year, and it just gets sweeter and sweeter as the temperature and my Vitamin D levels steadily increase. Spring is here, and with it comes the blossoming of flowers and pastel pink petals all over the park and the city streets. The cherry blossoms are blooming, too. I’ve decided that the cherry blossom is one of my favorite flowers – not only are they so beautiful, they are symbolic to me. They represent transience. They remind me that even the coldest winters eventually come to an end. They emerge and express their full form over the course of two-ish weeks, the blink of an eye if you’re too busy to notice. Even if they’re not forever, even if it feels too short to be sweet, I will still allow them to take my breath away.

As you may or may not know, I can be highly extra, and, as it has been some time since my last photoshoot in the wild, I have returned with my first shoot by the lovely and highly creative Giselle. She is directly responsible for my video modeling AND hand modeling shenanigans for bareMinerals.
