I spent the night preceding this beautiful morning at a Hungarian bar in the East Village. A kindly gentleman gave me and my friends each a rose and we danced the night away. I decided the flower was too beautiful and fragrant not to be seen again, so I pinned it into my hair and wore it to my favorite place in New York, Central Park.
Ballerina baby girl vibes.
I am so in love with this park. It doesn’t get old, no matter how many times I visit. I love being surrounded by the greenery and shielded from the busy streets, my stressful moods and the foul smells of NY summers. I’m so thankful that people have even taken the time to create and maintain beautiful parks for people like me to enjoy.
Just when I thought Central Park couldn’t get any better… A friendly barista at an Upper East Side cafe told me to go further uptown, to 106th Street and 5th Ave, and that I would not regret it. What an understatement that was. There I found the Conservatory Garden for the first time and I was overwhelmed by how gorgeous it is.
Look at this sweet angel admiring the koi fish.
I don’t even know what this overarching canopy structure is called but it is very pretty and offers a cool shade from the sun.
I’m trying to spend as much time as possible enjoying these gardens during the summer while the temperature still allows. I know I will miss this so much when the winter returns.
Next week is labor day weekend and my birthday too, and to me, the beginning of September marks the transition into autumn. I will be going up north to the Berkshires in Massachusetts and look forward to relaxing in a serene nature setting. See you soon 🙂
