Updates – Coding, Shooting, Flu-ing.

Hi Friends!

I thought I’d do something different from the usual make up post and share what I’ve been up to. You may not know this but I have been working on my blog a lot for the past few months. I’ve been disgruntled with my current layout and wordpress theme, and I couldn’t find anyone to fix it for me, so I’ve been learning how to code in order to customize my website.

A friend of mine directed me to this amazing website called Code Academy, where they offer many free web development courses that allow you to actually practice coding in real time. I’ve just completed the basic HTML/ CSS course…congratulations to me!

First, I have to tell you that I AM NOT THE ONE – I never thought I would add any sort of computer language to my bag of tricks, so I feel proud, shocked and geeky that I can basically understand the structure of a website and manipulate elements on the page. Second, with the help of some smart CSS-fluent friends, I’ve been working on a different looking webpage that I plan to roll out within the next few weeks. I’m very excited to share with you, and highly encourage anyone even slightly interested in webpages to check out these courses.

I’ve also been taking some pictures OUTSIDE the normal habitat of my bedroom – like a fish out of water. I’ve shot with a few brilliant photographers and will be sharing photos from those shoots soon. I love how different the images end up depending on the style of the photographer, and I daresay I may even enjoy modeling despite feeling a bit awkward initially. I hope to be sharing more projects like this, but for now, a teaser above 🙂

In other news, I have been out COLD with the worst flu I’ve experienced in years, so I am on the mend but I will see you back here shortly!
