Hola! Remember me?! Well today I am back with a fun look AND an update on my 30 Day Health Kick that I posted about last time. Let’s just start real quickly with the make up today – a really easy and feminine look that tests my comfort zone a little bit. If you know me, you know I’m skeptical about purple eyeshadows, but the Sephora lady talked me into buying a trio eyeshadow palette by Smashbox, and I have to say I am kind of liking it! I’m so bored with browns and it’s kind of predictable so here’s the purple rendition. Nothing garish, even with a smoky eye. I think 3 shadow palettes are a great set up because you know the colors already compliment each other, and all you have to do is put them all on and blend it out like a mofo! On my lips, I am wearing a mauve lipstick by Bobbi Brown, which I think is a great pairing with the shadow color. I wouldn’t like to do something too pink or purple, because I am not trying to look like barbie gone wrong, but a nice mauvey plummy color is a win!
As a nice transition into the health kick, I am pleased to say my skin is looking better (acne-wise) as I currently have no chin volcanoes (YES!!). Obviously I am wearing complexion-enhancing make up here (some tinted moisturizer, setting powder) but I like to think some of the glow is me just getting my health back! I have been trying to cut out processed sugar from my diet, drink lots of water, take fish oil pills and get some level of physical activity going. To be honest, I picked the worst time to be on a health kick because I just got my wisdom teeth removed and it was really hard to eat healthy when I couldn’t really eat anything. I’m really proud of myself for staying away from sugary junk food this whole time (except for two or three my weak moments, sorry!)… as a glutton it’s kind of shocking! But I definitely haven’t been consistent with the other parts of my kick since I was a swollen bloody potato in bed for a whole week. I think I’ll just extend the 30 days because I think not eating sugar is helping my skin and general health. Anyone still on their health kick? Anyone seeing any results?
Anyway, hope everyone is staying heathy and beautiful!
