Product Favorite: Bobbi Brown’s Shimmer Brick

Screen Shot 2014-04-26 at 7.04.29 PMHey beauties and cuties!

Ok, you know that one product that you try just once, and it’s love at first sight? You wonder why it took so long for you to find it, and it makes you look / feel 10x cuter. Bam, the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Bronze IS that product for me!

Honestly, I didn’t know what this product was the first time I saw it. I originally thought it was an eye shadow, so that’s how I first used it. I always enjoy wearing a nice shimmer and I felt like it was the perfect amount of brown / copper-ey color to give some definition, and had a highlighting color to give the eyes a nice pop. I think it looks particularly flattering on brown eyed gals, but maybe I’m just biased. Ha!

I later learned it’s actually an eyeshadow, bronzer AND highlighter… I thought to myself it was much too shimmery to be a bronzer and much too pigmented to be a highlighter. WRONG, on both counts! It is an incredible bronzer and highlighter. First of all, I’m not a bronzer person because I am afraid of the oompa loompa effect, and just imagine a shiny oompa looma. NO THX. But it’s not the case here; Shimmer Brick gives such a buildable and natural glow, like you just went on a vacation somewhere warm and sunny! I love the color, and I think it works so well because of the lovely shimmer effect. I think the pearl is small enough such that light can be reflected off of the high points of the face in a subtle, yet gorgeous way, as a perfect complement to the deeper color. It’s like having your own lighting crew follow you around… so flattering!

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: I LOVE MULTITASKERS! I think they add so much value and convenience to a product, and it helps me justify the price ($42 USD) a little bit. As you can see, the brick is five different pigments laid into stripes. You could use them individually, perfect for the eyes. You could use combinations of them, for contouring the face. You could use them all blended into one for a lovely warm glow. Basically you could use it any damn way you want, and the outcome is always a pretty face! Here’s my face before I put it on, and then after.

Y’all have a fave that’s worth trying?? Let me know!
